Are You Afraid Of Being Naked?

Brad over at the Seduction Chronicles just wrote an article that is absolutely captivating. It is sitting in my crawl even as I write this and will be for a long time.
The article uses one of the most effective writing techniques known. He puts you completely into state of mind and takes us men right to the moment where it matters most for any man between the ages of 18 and 50.
He drops a huge bucket of cold water on you about 1/4 of the way through but …

Manliness Traits: A Series Of Phrases and Thoughts Fundamental To Men

This is the start of a series which I plan on posting several manly traits that I believe core to men as they journey on their Return To Manliness. I write this site in the hope that all who read it either take steps to become a better man, a better father, a better husband, a better person than what they are today. If you already have wonderful manly qualities about you, then maybe just a refresher. And if you truly have all the qualities that we …

What is a Blog Carnival?
The Art of Manliness runs and operate a really cool carnival called the Manival. If you are new to blog carnivals, it is pretty simple. Blogs submit their best of the week’s blogposts and the person running the carnival picks the best of the submissions for links. All the blogs that submit and all the readers of those blogs will usually see the links as everyone will link to the carnival and to their featured articles.
It is really a great way to get …

Fist Bumps: Have They Lost Their Manly Meaning?

The fist bump has taken on a whole new meaning as of late. Barack and Michelle Obama gave each other a fist bump recently and it turned the desperate, right-wing media folk on their heads – looking for anything to hang around their competition’s neck. One literally insane, woman commentator actually insinuated it as a “terrorist fist jab”. Of course, unless you took a whole bottle of crazy pills, smoked your breakfast, or simply decided to forget you had a brain, you dismissed this as just plain …

How To Shine And Polish Shoes

There is nothing that can ruin a good suit more than scuffed up shoes. It is imperative that we pay attention to our shoes when dressing formal. After all, this does contribute to one of our core manliness traits: A Man’s Appearance Matters. It is something often overlooked until we at the point of putting the shoe on and realize their shoes look like they have been run over by a truck several times.
Men have several options to keep their shoes in good working order and in …

Most bloggers read other bloggers and I am not exception. They will do something called a “Weekly Roundup” of all the blog posts they feel added some value. Another good reason (the skeptic inside me tells me it is the foremost reason) is a way to encourage back links to other bloggers for their own blogs.
In any event, I like to read these “Weekly-ies” because in one post, someone has done the homework for me of sorting out the good posts from the bad posts. I also …

How To Tell Your Children That You Are Getting Divorced

Shannon Hutton over at Sparkplugging wrote a tremendous post recently on the do’s and dont’s of telling your children that you are getting divorced. Reading this article brought back some very bitter memories for me as I come from a broken home.
My parent’s divorce was not a “friendly” divorce – I refuse to believe that any one ever is. There was infidelity on one side and it got really ugly to say the least. My brother was out of high school and I was still in high …

Drilling In ANWR Will Not Solve The Problem But It’s A Start

I hate to talk politics on the Return To Manliness blog, but this issue is taking on epic proportions because of the insane gas prices we are witnessing. At front and center is the lightning rod topic of drilling for oil in ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Reserve). Check out what Wikipedia has to say about ANWR.
The right wants to drill and drill ASAP to help replace some of our oil imports from other countries. The left wants to leave this pristine refuge untouched and kept as a …
