Return To Manliness Roundup: Financial Armageddon Edition

Financial Armageddon

Everyone, and I mean everyone, is locking it down right now.  Commerce is barely moving and my line of work, like so many others, is viable only when the business is working.
This financial crisis is one for the ages.  …

Interesting Reflection: Man Drought Is Fact Of Dating Life

There are some really good articles floating around in today’s ether on the lack of manliness in all men and the lack of men that possess any of it at all.  As I was reading this article from The New Zealand Herald, it made me contemplate this young woman’s dilema.  The article is titled Man drought is fact of dating life.
Here is an excerpt from that article:
Young, gorgeous, successful – and single. For Christine Kitching, 24, Auckland’s “man drought,” is not a vague concept, but a reality.
The high-flying Air New Zealand …

Return To Manliness Redesign – One Full Week In The Books

Return To Manliness website underwent a complete redesign last weekend.  After careful review and thoughtful consideration (and about 15 yard beers), it was deemed a magazine theme was in store for the new look.
I went with Michael Jubel Hutagalung’s Arthemia theme.  The response has been good all week with emails and comments.  If you are an RSS reader of the blog and have not been to the main site in awhile, come check it out.  I would really like your feedback on the new look.  DON’T hold back!  If you …

5 Manly Lessons From The 2008 USA Basketball “Redeem” Team

The USA Men’s Basketball team, the Redeem Team, has moved into the finals against Spain after slapping around the helpless Argentina team. They get a Spain team that recently went through some of their own controversy brought on by themselves.
Entering these Olympic Games, I had to listen to all kinds of people tell me they were still a bunch of punks that would allow their ego’s to get in the way of the greater good. I started to believe all the useless drivel myself, but quickly got snapped …

The Manival is hosted this week by Dr. Awesome over at To Every Man A Manswer – Return To Manliness was given the opportunity to show off our love for the great American male pastime, Cheap Yard Beer.  Dr. Awesome’s site is a collection of pretty cool posts outlining his take on everything from manliness to mancrushes.  His format is to answer reader questions in great detail – with his original voice and candor.
I’m subscribed to the site and I encourage you to check out some of his articles.  One …

Man Up Your Bucket List

Several bloggers around the old series of tubes are publishing their version of their Bucket List. The importance of what it means to them and how their readers should create their own. Of course, this is all based on the extremely popular movie The Bucket List (starring two of my all time favorite manly men, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.)
This is a great idea. Trent over at The Simple Dollar (another great site) helps with some really simple how-to’s. It’s a good read. He …
