Attack Plan: Put The Beatdown On Professional Panhandlers

I have a huge intolerance for panhandlers nowadays. I know it’s not a kind or compassionate position to take, but I can’t take it anymore. They are everywhere in my city, Las Vegas. It’s even worse than my old city, Detroit (believe it, it’s true).
The mayor in Las Vegas, Mayor Oscar Goodman, pushed through an ordinance last year that made it illegal to give money or food to the homeless. Oscar is awesome.

Oscar is famous in Vegas for defending the Mob, as their attorney, during the …

Return To Manliness Roundup: Earnest Borgnine Edition

A good friend of mine, Dave, sent me a video clip of the legendary actor on a recent morning show.  I love Dave and I love Ernest Borgnine more than ever at this point.  I saw this video was captured over at The Common Man as well.  Great minds think alike.
When reminded of his age, he was asked his secret to life.  Take a listen (only a minute).

I’m reminded of the amazing candidness that happens when you reach a certain age.  It happens at different ages for all of us, …

Manliest Summer Olympic Sporting Events

Beijing is a just a few days away and I am usually not that interested in what goes on. But this year, the summer games are being held in China – the hotbed of just about everything as of late. From business to oil to imports to exports to autos to politics to whatever – China is center stage.
As I was running down the schedule my next couple of weeks of 3:00 AM TV watching, I really wanted to make sure I was taking in all the right …

Profiles In Manliness: Gordie Howe

Gordie Howe earned the nickname “Mr. Hockey” from his teammates, friends, commentators, opponents and his enemies while playing for my beloved Detroit Red Wings. It is possibly the coolest nickname of all time and likely the truest ever given to a man. Gordie Howe, while playing, WAS hockey. In his retirement, he still commands the respect as the best player of all time.
Most everyone, not just hockey fans, knows who he is. His exploits on the ice are legendary. Heck, there is even a made-up …
