As most readers have seen, I have added a link to sign up for the RSS feed. Many people I speak to in the real world don’t even know what an RSS feed is, let alone wanting to link to mine. I will have to do an entire post on this as I hope all who have blogs do as well. Of course, all RSS feeds are free and it is merely a information “push” from a blog or a news site as they update with …

Watch Pilot Episode Of AMC’s Mad Men For Free

One of my more controversial posts thus far, The Manly Side Of Smoking, reminded me of a show that I absolutely love. The good folks over at the Art of Manliness would probably love this show, since it is all throwback to the 1960’s era of working in an ad agency. The show is called Mad Men and is on AMC as an original series. I found out that AMC has decided to put its pilot episode of the show online for all to view again. …

Make The Right Impression When Leaving A Voicemail

I just heard a voicemail from a guy who clearly did not get this memo. Before I get to the list of steps to leaving a proper voicemail, take a listen this.

(The back story on this is that a girl named Olga was out with her friends in the Marina district of San Francisco, and she talked to this guy named Dmitri for all of two minutes. Then she gave him her card and said “give me a call.” The above are the messages …

The good folks over at Wisebread (a personal finance website I follow) wrote a piece today asking the question “Will Companies Ever Woo Again?” I started reading the post and I knew where it was going, so I wasn’t soiling my pants with anticipation of the information. Good writers, good blog, but know the issues and the topic so I was not going crazy with anticipation. They were simply saying that times are tough and they were exploring the issue of when, or even “if”, companies will …

Manliness Trait: Treat Ordinary People Extraordinary, Treat Extraordinary People Ordinary

There is a wonderful compliment you can give just about anyone you ever come across (including the rich and famous) – Treat Ordinary People Extraordinary, and Treat Extraordinary People Ordinary. As a Manliness Trait, it is right near the top of my list since it is core to being seen as having the manly skills that turn us from being just a guy, to being genuine man.
I first heard this entire saying several years ago when someone was trying to explain what made Larry King, the reporter, so effective …

The Financial Wisdom Of Fight Club

I don’t want to make a habit of reviewing other blog posts in my daily “Article of the Day” series, but this one was just too amazing to pass up. Paul Michael over at Wisebread wrote The Financial Wisdom Of Fight Club. First, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Wanna see a flick that oozes manliness? Rent or buy Fight Club.
The premise is a little hokey, but Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) is completely ripped in this movie and his character just …

Manliness Article Of The Day: Stubble Is Manly

The Telegraph UK cited a study done by Northumbria University in Newcastle, England (great beer by the way) on that Women prefer men with stubble for love, sex and marriage. Fascinating finding that puts science behind what every man has believed for a VERY long time – most women dig the facial hair.
Now, I know I will get all kinds of flack from the women who don’t like it (e.g. RtM gal – a.k.a. my wife), but the fact of the matter is, most do like it. …
